Our daughter is our middle child. Let's call her "Z".My in-laws live in Korea and come to the States for an extended visit every summer. They arrived this afternoon and my husband's side of the family all came over for dinner this evening.
Z is the only granddaughter on both sides of the family. She is quite literally "the princess." The grandmothers are both practically reduced to tears merely by looking upon her "stunningly gorgeous, perfect, beautiful, unbelievable, amazing, etc" face. My own mother says on a weekly basis, "What would I have done without her??" Tonight, I heard her other grandmother utter the words, "How can a child be this beautiful?" as they walked hand-in-hand from one room to the next.
Sigh. This can't be good.
